Talisha Cross has spent the last sixteen years of her life as a Certified Correctional Officer. While as a Correctional Officer, she was promoted to a Correctional Corporal overseeing twelve employees and one thousand plus inmates. While she thoroughly enjoyed her work, she realized that her true calling was to help care for people who are not able to fully care for themselves.
As a result, she decided to acquire certification in Medical Assistance/Phlebotomy and then working at the Economic Opportunity Family Health Center as a Medical Assistant/ Phlebotomist. She later worked as a certified nursing assistant for a Senior Homecare Agency.
A major reason Talisha decided to return to the healthcare field is she has seen the increased need of assistance for the elderly, the disabled and now more ever millennials. Talisha sees it as her divine duty to help those in need.
Talisha has a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration and a Master of Science in Criminal Justice.
Talisha is the mother of one child, Kaejuan Anderson who is pursuing studies in Business Management and certification in the Plumber’s Union.
In her spare time, she dedicates her volunteer service to non-profit organizations: Order of the Eastern Star, PHA; Heroines of Jericho; Ladies of the Circle of Perfection; Heroines of Templar Crusaders; Order of the Golden Circle; A.E.O.N.M.S., Inc. – Auxiliary of the Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order Nobles Mystic Shrine, Pumps, Pearls & Portfolios, Inc. (Welfare to Work) and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc./ Beta Tau Zeta Chapter. She has been actively donating to the community through food drives, youth group organizations, events, fundraisers, human trafficking functions, senior retirement homes and scholarships which reflects her desire to help, serve, and protect the public in providing a healthy and positive quality of life for all.
